She received $55 from the United States Navy for burial services. That was all.

Due to WWII, she did not make it past through to seventh grade. I think that it causes people to become dependent on the Government to take care of them. I don't think people should be taxed and forced to contribute to it.

The Church and local community are supposed to care for those less fortunate, and I strongly believe that if we were not taxed so much that people would be more generous to those in need, removing the need for government saviors.

So yes I believe in welfare, but not government welfare.Kimmiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02640887220425915790noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5881846455465705974.post-15409989421510667842011-08-21T17:36:27.798-07:002011-08-21T17:36:27.798-07:00I'm curious to ask further questions along the...I'm curious to ask further questions along the lines of your belief in the American welfare system.

For example, what if a SAHM (with no 'business' work skills besides a GED and oh, just a little thing called running a HOUSEHOLD ;)) has three children with a moderately successful construction contractor, who perishes by tragic accident, leaving her with no insurance or savings money and four hungry mouths. What do the mother and children do, if there were no welfare to give foothold?

Sort of a 'what-if' sceneario and a question about whether you believe in welfare, if so, what types, etc.

Thanks for the time you take out of your day to write your blog!

MindyMindynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5881846455465705974.post-21596255798563361522011-03-22T21:23:33.768-07:002011-03-22T21:23:33.768-07:00great Blog post kimmie...all the things you said w...great Blog post kimmie...all the things you said were/are so true. I do all that with exception of the thrift store shopping. Not that i'm oppossed to it ...just no tfamiliar with our local stores. I do however always look for deals when shopping for anything I hate to pay full price and will avaoid it for the most part. I LOVE a deal. Being that I stay at home, I believ it's my duty to spend the money given to me responsibly and frugally :)Thrisft stores are in my near future. I utilize hand me downs, our church is great about this, our moms group has 'officiak' clothing swaps in the fall and spring, and unofficiall whenever you wanna get rid of some stuff. This is for kids clothes, we are talking about doing toy swaps too :)The grocery tips you gave are so true, i've been shopping that way and making menus for a while now , and man does it save! My hubby looks forward presently to all the kids being in school so I can go back to work part time, but honestly I think he has no idea the changes that will take place at home to facilitate that happening. Gods will be done, we will see.Shana Mcnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5881846455465705974.post-49894823866143955982011-03-07T22:05:56.741-08:002011-03-07T22:05:56.741-08:00Oh boo hoo. I feel that is exactly where I belong but unfortunately my husband feels we can't live on one income. I have done the math and we can't afford it but I keep praying there will be a way for it to become possible. I like your suggestion about not being a nag about it. I am guilty of that. So I will stop that, pray and find ways to save and make extra income. Thanks for the post:)Yvettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15993793692859370119noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5881846455465705974.post-56896902904116044792011-03-03T16:16:53.613-08:002011-03-03T16:16:53.613-08:00Thanks.

It seems we blast women for working and if she lets her heart be known that she really wants to stay home we blast her for not submitting or dogging her husband.

By 'we' I just mean Christian women in general, not necessarily you or me.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5881846455465705974.post-81027281619420055522011-03-02T18:04:48.974-08:002011-03-02T18:04:48.974-08:00Really enjoyed this post. I thought we were struggling before! I have to say the best money saving tip has got to be shopping at thrift stores. I can spend $10 on a baby shirt at walmart that falls apart or get 5 shirts from a much better brand that last forever or at least until she grows out of them!
I also sold some crafts which paid for quite a lot at the thrift store!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
